Small Dog Playtime may not appropriate for all dogs, even those who are fine at daycare or off leash parks. This is because adolescents are developing their social skills and preferences and may behave differently in an enclosed space than they do on walks or during one-on-one play.
Small Dog Playtime begins with attention exercises to get your teen to focus on you while the Ahimsa trainers group the puppies. Puppies are grouped by play style to keep the shy puppies from being overwhelmed and to keep the more outgoing puppies engaged. Ahimsa trainers moderate play as needed, and teach you how to moderate your pup’s play. Pups take several training breaks in class to build attention and lower arousal in a distracting environment.
*Swapping Classes: Small Dog Playtimes can be rescheduled (swapped). When you register, you can select reservation dates which guarantee your puppy a spot on that day.
You can manage your own schedule on our website and swap your reservation(s) with other class dates during your enrollment period. If there’s a class reservation that you can’t make or a date you want to change, login to View & Swap Sessions. Watch the How to Swap video here. You can swap up to 1 day in advance online. By phone or email, we need at least 2 days in advance of your reservation to process your request. If you don’t unreserve or swap the class that you can’t attend, the class is forfeit.

Come play or train inside with your dog or with a few doggie friends! Ahimsa has expanded so we now have a new, large training room for rent as an indoor private dog park. Located right in Seattle – the same building as our main classroom in Ballard. The room has the same open space, padded floors, high ceilings and skylights that you have seen in our main classroom. Room includes use of jumps, tunnels, toys, and flirt pole. There is a parking space right in front of the room so you can unload and load your dog and any training equipment easily.
Ideal for:
- reactive dogs who have issues with people or other dogs
- play dates with doggy friends
- dog who are practicing obedience skills or basic agility
- high energy dogs who need room to run without distractions
- older dogs who need to exercise in a safe space
- dogs (and people) who just want to stay warm and dry

- REQUIRED Prerequisites: Must be registered for Puppy Kindergarten at Ahimsa. Can be taken concurrently with Kindergarten.

NO Daycare/Dog Park Anti-Germ Policy: To ensure a safe and germ-free environment for our students, puppies enrolled in this class cannot be in high-risk areas where they may contact germs and potentially spread them to other puppies. This includes dog daycare and dog parks and is applicable even if the puppy has completed all of its shots (since they may be in contact with puppies who have only had the first round and are not fully protected yet).
