About the Trainer:
Kristi is a trainer in the Puppy Day Training program and assists with a variety of group classes and the reactivity evaluations. She has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and was a massage therapist for many years. Her own reactive dogs inspired Kristi to dive into the world of dog training, and she is passionate about working with worried or reactive dogs. She can relate to the frustration many owners have of not knowing how to help their dog and the hope and relief that comes with learning how to improve their dog’s outlook and behavior. Additionally, Kristi enjoys helping puppies learn about their environment in a positive way and to set them up for success in the world. She appreciates the opportunity to educate owners with dogs of all ages about behavior and positive training methods.
Examples of things that Kristi can help you with:
- Basic Manners for adolescent and adult dogs (sit, down, stay, loose leash walking, focusing around distractions, etc.)
- Teaching puppies good habits (four on the floor, greetings, settle on a bed, etc.)
- Puppy training for biting, jumping, arousal control
- On leash aggression, frustration or reactivity toward other dogs
Kristi is taking clients who are enrolled in Ahimsa classes or have taken classes at Ahimsa within the last 2 years.
About the Sessions:
Please note if the session location is listed as Ahimsa, the session cannot be done off-site.
For off-site sessions, please make sure you are within the Primary BLACK LINE service area to book online without emailing Kristi first and use this link to pay the Primary Service Area Travel Fee. After you register for a session, you will complete a comprehensive history form online for Kristi to read before the session. That way, she can get right to work helping you and your dog have a better future, rather than spending the whole time learning about your dog’s past in the first session. This saves you time and money.
During the session, your trainer will ask you some additional questions during the first portion to get a complete picture of your dog’s issue(s). After that, she will teach you how to use the most appropriate, modern, dog-friendly techniques, based on what is the best fit for your dog and your family.
When you register, your confirmation email will also include login information, so that you can log in to change your schedule, if needed.
We also offer Growly Dog class at Ahimsa in Seattle for aggression and reactivity to other dogs. If your dog is reactive to humans and has bitten, you would need a private session with a Senior Trainer who has experience with human aggression. Please call 206-364-4072 or email info@doggiezen.com to help you find the best training option for your dog.
