To set our dogs up for success, please avoid allowing them to get excited by meeting other dogs or people on the way to our meeting location. Some dogs need some time to settle in and be ready for calm, close encounters.
Location: We’ll meet in front of the Discovery Park Visitor’s Center.
Things to do ahead of time
-
- Please email your dog’s latest vaccination records to admin@doggiezen.com unless we already have the latest records on file. You can also ask your vet to email or fax them to us at (206) 866-6786
Items to bring with you:
- Appropriate clothing such as rain gear, gloves, umbrella, sunscreen, or sunglasses – this class will be outdoors in Seattle!
- Your dog on a harness, gentle leader or a regular snap collar. If your equipment is too loose or you feel like your dog could slip out of their collar or harness, please use a safety clip or carabiner to clip your harness and collar together. If you’re unsure how to do so, bring a safety clip or carabiner with you and your instructor will assist you.
- A regular 6 foot leash. Retractable leashes aren’t appropriate for this class.
- (Optional) If you’ve worked in class or with an Ahimsa trainer using a long line for walking, consider bringing it with you, though you should also carry a 6-foot leash.
- An obscene amount of small, amazing treats. You will need about one *full* sandwich bag of treats, maybe more if you have a large dog. We recommend having a mix of very high value treats (basically anything that will have your dog asking, “What did I do to deserve this?” like deli turkey, steak, stinky sardines, string cheese, lamb lung, freeze-dried liver, , etc.) and low to moderate value treats (dog biscuits or kibble).
- Clicker(optional)
- An interactive toy that you and your puppy can play tug with together like a long soft toy, long rope, braided fleece tug, ball on a string, etc. (optional)
- Water and water bowl, especially in the summer. It’s important to keep your dog (and you!) cool and hydrated during your sessions.
- Poop bags
HEALTH
- If your dog is sick (coughing, vomiting, really tired, red or runny eyes, diarrhea, nasal discharge, etc.) PLEASE don’t bring him/her to class and inform us immediately
RESCHEDULING OR REFUNDS :
You can manage your own schedule on our website and swap your reservation(s) with other class dates during your enrollment period. If there’s a class reservation that you can’t make or a date you want to change, login to View & Swap Sessions. Watch the How to Swap video here. You can swap up to 1 day in advance online. By phone or email, we need at least 2 days in advance of your reservation to process your request. If you don’t unreserve or swap the class that you can’t attend, the class is forfeit.
Please see our cancellation policy
