Oct 4 – Help the Seattle Humane Society

Mark your calendar!  The Humane Society for Seattle/King County is hosting a Walk for the Animals event on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 9:00 a.m. – Noon at University Village in Seattle. If you have a friendly dog that would enjoy this event, please support the animals.  Click here for more info.

“Collect pledges for your walk, and save the lives of animals in need. Donations provide shelter, food and loving homes for shelter dogs and cats.”

The walk moves off from U-Village in Seattle at 10:30 am and returns to the excitement of FidoFEST, where I (Grisha) will be manning (womaning?) a booth for Ahimsa.  You’ll get all kinds of freebies, entertainment and more at FidoFEST, including a chance to win from Ahimsa Dog Training.  More details later.

You can also enter to win a spot in Seattle Magazine as Seattle’s Favorite Fido.  Click here to enter.  Another fun event is the Tricks contest.  And move over, Ellen Degeneres, watch out Right Wing…apparently Dog is a liberal.  Even dogs can get married at FidoFEST, and get their own certificate of Muttrimony, regardless of gender.  $$ supports the Humane Society.  See the FidoFEST page for details.

A key point for any big event like this is to make sure your dog or puppy is having fun!  If she is panting from stress, take her home! But if she loves people and dogs and cookies, FidoFEST will be the place to be on October 4th!
