Play and Train
Ahimsa Dog Training has been offering play times supervised by Certified trainers in Seattle since 2004. We monitor for emotional and physical safety, so everybody has fun! You should expect to be an active participant in this experience, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes that will stay on your feet.
Purchase one play time or a play punch card – buy 5 to get one free. Purchasing a play time does NOT reserve you a spot, so show up on time! You can speed up your check in by purchasing online, then bring your receipt to the training center (printed or on your phone).

- Puppy Play & Train:
For puppies from 8 weeks up to 20 weeks old (older than 5 months – only with instructor permission). This drop-in class is designed to allow puppies a safe, clean socialization opportunity. Please do not bring your puppy if you are also going to off leash parks or daycare. Puppies are grouped by play style to help keep shy puppies from being overwhelmed. Ahimsa trainer(s) supervising the Play and Train will help owners select the appropriate play group for their dog as well as coach owners on when and how to intervene to keep the social experience positive.
- Teen Play & Train: (Check with your current class instructor for the time.)
For dogs 5+ months old.
This group is a continuation of Puppy Play and Train – or if you are in Puppy Elementary or Puppy Junior High, please talk to your current class instructor. (Note: This group may not appropriate for all dogs, even those who are fine at dog daycare or off leash parks. This is because adolescent dogs are developing social skills and preferences and may behave differently in an enclosed space than they do on walks or during one-on-one play.)
- Small Dog Play:
For puppies 6+ months old and adult small dogs who like to play and will be 35 pounds or under at adult weight.
Kids: Well-mannered children are allowed. Children should not run & play with the dogs during the dogs’ play time.
Play & Train Notes:
Play times are on a drop-in basis, so make sure that you come on time or even early since purchasing a play time does not reserve your spot. You can speed up your check in by purchasing your play pass online, then bring your receipt to the training center (printed or on your phone).
Kids and Play & Train: The Play & Train is designed for puppies to learn how to socialize with each other. It’s a busy environment and the Ahimsa staff will be focused on ensuring that puppies are safe and confident. If you bring children to attend the play time, chances are good that we’ll ask them to hang out quietly in their own area since not all puppies are comfortable with children, and most puppies get very excited when kids run or play near them, which can escalate play and even get your child nipped by an overexcited puppy.
Please do not bring your puppy if you are also going to off leash parks or daycare. Some puppies attending play & train may only have one set of shots and could be susceptible to germs that your puppy is fully vaccinated against, so we ask that you do not bring your puppy to play and train if they attend dog parks or dog daycare.
