Ahimsa Dog Training

Orientation

ahimsa Orientation is your first stop at Ahimsa Dog Training. For the Dream Dog program, you will need to have the Orientation as your first lesson, unless you’ve already taken our Orientation before and know how to teach basic skills using positive reinforcement.

If you are in Puppy Kindergarten or have a Dream Dog membership, the Orientation is where you will get your clicker and harness, as well as learning about the ways that dogs learn. You will also get an introduction to using the clicker to train dogs and other animals.

We will also discuss how to get rid of problem behaviors and get you ready for class at Ahimsa Dog Training.

We will teach you how to start training your dog to:

  • Turn for their Name
  • Sit
  • Lie Down
  • Stay
  • Target your hand with their nose (yes, it's useful!)
  • Come

Students in our series classes, including Growly Dog, Intermediate Puppy, and Advanced Puppy, should also take the Orientation session.

The Orientation session is free to the public, but the intended audience is people with dogs signed up for our classes.

TO BRING: Receipt for your class (for the harness), note-taking materials. Please do NOT bring your dog to the orientation.  Children are normally welcome in our classes, but the session is an hour and a half, so children may be better off with a sitter.

Confused? Please email info@doggiezen.com or call us at 206-364-4072 if you have any questions about which class(es) would be best for you at Ahimsa Dog Training in Seattle.
