If you are concerned about how the dogs will interact, split the cost of a dog trainer to manage the introductions. Meet at a neutral place the first time, like a park, unless you are 110% sure the dogs are not territorially aggressive. From there, you can walk to a house together.  This list is for information purposes only and we assume no liability whatsoever.  Be careful and have fun!

DogName: Bodhi
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
DogAge: 6 months
Size: 5 pounds and 11 inches tall
Play_style: The few times he's been around other dogs, Bodhi was just happy to watch at first. He'd make little sounds of curiosity, then walk up to them - tail wagging. Bodhi seems to be rather timid and doesn't care for wrestling. He enjoys fetch, puppy bubbles and gnawing stuffed squeaky toys.
He loves to go to the nearby park (just up the block) for little sprints and to explore, but is very wary of children. We rarely see other dogs there and leave if any are unleashed. Bodhi is still adjusting to loud trucks and people entering our building.
Comments: My spouse and I are in Greenwood. Anytime of day is pretty good except for 2 - 4 pm naptime.
Your place or ours.  Any playtime in our apartment would have to be low-key due to an agreement with the manager that allows Bodhi to live in a "no-dog" building. We are very puppy-proofed, preventing access to bookshelves and cords. The nearby park would allow playful barking. A weepad is kept in the bathroom and we're prepared for "accidents" on the carpet.

Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix
DogAge: 11 wks (DOB 3 Feb 05)
Size: 16 lbs (as of 21 April)
Play_style: She is frendly and hyper, has already masterd "fetch". Can sometimes seem a bit rough, but that is when she is playing/wrestling with the cat, who seems so fragile. She must not be too rough, because the cat comes looking for a fight. Very lovey none the less
Comments: We live on Ft Lewis WA. about 45 mins from Seattle, near Tacoma. Our play times are flexiable, I work night shift, so I am home during the day.

DogName: Mishka
Breed: german shepherd
DogAge: 13 weeks on 4/12/05
Size: approx. 16-18 lbs
Play_style: Currently enrolled in puppy kindergarten [at Ahimsa Dog Training], I have not seen Mishka play with another dog outside that setting, so can't really comment on some of these questions. I can say that she is often in the smaller/more timid group in those classes still which is funny only because I don't see her as shy at all. She is super friendly, eager to play with people and dogs, but rough play is still very new territory. She loves NOTHING MORE than to be outside, and we have a large backyard to share.
Comments: We are on Beacon Hill, near 1-5 corridor. Currently available days also and so finding a sometime weekday companion would be ideal, though weekends are fine too; no weeknights. Willing to share taking turns with travel.

DogName: Tully
Breed: Catahoula Leopard/Border Collie
DogAge: 3 years
Size: 40 pounds
Play_style: Tully can be a really shy dog but there is something about the Basenji breed that makes her come out of her shell. We have been looking for a Basenji playmate for a while but haven’t had much luck. Tully is three years old and has a sister, Montana who would also love to meet her new friend at a later date. Because she is shy, Tully sometimes has a difficult time meeting new dogs and can be a bit growly, but for some odd reason, she has a special place in her heart for the Basenji and is not in the least bit aggressive with them. If there are any other Basenji’s out there who wouldn’t mind playing with a Basenji wanna-be we would love to meet you.
Comments: We live in West Seattle but are very flexible in where we could meet a playmate. We also have a larger yard that would be available for play once the dogs get to know one another. Our ideal play time is also flexible but evenings and weekends would probably work best-although early mornings work as well.

DogName: Jasper
Breed: Husky and Blue Heeler
DogAge: 1.5 years
Size: 50lbs
Play_style: Jasper loves to chase, that is probably is favorite thing to do but he also loves to wrestle. He plays rough but has never been in a fight. He would enjoy playing with a dog that is his size or bigger, about his age, and wiht lots of energy! He can be mouthy in his play but never aggressive. I have never seen him provoked to the extent of getting in a fight by another dog. He also will play tug of war, and he loves the soccer ball. He is interested in other types of balls and other toys to some extent but generally only if the other dog is interested. He loves other dogs and would be much happier with a playmate then by himself. At the dog parks he usually plays with big dogs- often significantlly bigger then himself such as Great Danes and especially dogs that love to run. He is normally submisive to larger dogs but not overtly.
Comments: We are located in Magnolia and have a fenced decent sized yard. We are looking for someone with a fenced yard not too far away from Magnolia. Im hoping to find a dog that is compatible with Jasper and to possibly do an exhange a couple of times a week while we are at work.

Play_style: Winston loves to play. He likes to wrestle and play chase, and loves to be with other dogs. He has been around dogs of all sizes, but finds it easier to play with little ones.
Comments: We live in the Central District, and are looking for someone in the CD, Capital Hill, First Hill, areas. Ideally, after we all get to know each other, we love to have a situation where we could exchange puppy sitting days (ie. we bring our dog to your house for the day/evening, you bring your dog here for the day/evening, maybe once a week or so.)

DogName: Leyla
Breed: apparent Rott mix
DogAge: 3 months
Size: predicted to reach 50 to 60#. Currently 20#. Height??? She is LONG. Grew 1 inch up , 2 inches longer last night.
Play_style: Um ... don't know her play style yet except that she does not investigate scenery if any distraction is around. She wrestles happily with a llama puppet - that would be calm wrestling - but has also wrestled with an umpteen pound, oversized Lab adult who rolled and rolled and rolled her. That was heaven - just to have a dog responding. Not a big barker but does growl a little, at first. With me, she likes to pounce on toys I dangle.drag and she enjoys running around w/ a long rope trailing after her. She really loves play that involves pouncing after an object, unless it is a ball or toy that you threw for fetching. No fetching promises, here. She is on the timid/tentative side, but readily responds to vocal assurances. The hackles lie flat and the play begins. Except most older dogs - 90 % of the dogs she has met - have zero interest in ignorant pups like her. She will give up the certain attention of a child, 5, 8, 10 or 13 yo, for the uncertain attention of another canine. She is totally ADD when outdoors, unless we have another dog in the yard.
Comments: We live in Hawthorne Hills (near the off-leash Magnuson Park) and have a good-sized fenced-in back yard for private frolicking. Small dogs can still escape if determined for tho we have a game fence buried 18 inches unde 98% of the yard,, we also have a gate we did'nt plan for and that is easily dug out under, still. Problem solving in the future.

Having two teens w/separate circles of friends means I am on, on, ON on weekends and evenings but I have daytimes (home office) during the weekdays. If our dogs click (and you dog does not menace our 2 indoor/outdoor cats), well then I can see the possibility of drop-off play dates.

DogName: Stella
Breed: Shiba Inu
DogAge: 1
Size: 21.5 pounds, 18"
Play_style: Stella is very energetic and has been quite friendly with all but a very small number of dogs. She has played well with another young Shiba in particular, and she also *loves* playing with labradors. Stella has an uncommonly sunny personality for a Shiba, and can be moderate in her play, but she does like rough wrestling. She wouldn't be right for really submissive dogs, nor really aggressive ones. She is turning 1 in early April, so she still has lots of puppy energy.
Comments: We're in the north-Ballard/Crown Hill area, and Saturday or Sunday afternoons are ideal. Thursday afternoons are also negotiable.

Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier x Catahoula Leopard Dog
DogAge: 7 months
Size: 45 lbs- 19 inches
Play_style: Looking for someone with another pit, or familiar with them. Van likes to play like a pit bull, with much wrestling, grappling and body slams. Obviously a dog that does not play like this is going to be put off by it :) He is very energetic and is not dog aggressive in the least. We have been to dog parks, but its just too much for him, and the labs and chihuahuahs bully him :p I would prefer someone else with a pit bull, as its also a good chance for me to meet others in love with this wonderful breed.
Comments: I am in Burien and can travel a little bit, within reason (I take the bus). I work from home so anytime is good for me. Shoot me an email and lets talk dawgs!

dogs his size and larger, but he's not too picky. He likes to run around and play the "you chase me! I chase you!" game with other dogs, which sometimes turns into light wrestling, followed by more chase. He hardly ever barks and is very obedient.
Comments: We're in Capitol Hill and would prefer to find a playmate with a fenced yard or kennel. We live near a large park, but it is on-leash only. Rooty is still a pup and has lots of energy, so older dogs or those with a short temper probably aren't the best match. Ideal playtimes would either be mid-day or later evenings/weekends. We dont have a car, so please be nearby or accessible by bus.

Comments: Mornings and weekends are best times for me...some evenings. I live in Lynnwood within walking distance to Martha Lake, and I don't have a yard but there are a lot of parks and large playing areas aroud my home. I am willing to drive within reason to find a buddy or two for my new puppy.

DogName: Cassie
Breed: Border Collie
DogAge: 2 or 3 years
Size: 40 lbs
Play_style: Cassie's a little shy but wags her tail at most every dog she meets. I've seen her play for hours with other border collies and herding breeds. She does the cute "downward dog" yoga pose to invite the play, then jumps around her playmate, tail wagging and smiling. I love to see her play like that! She also loves toys. She plays fetch and hide-and-seek and will follow another dog around if they like carrying toys around too. She'll play tug-of-war if the other dog will look her in the eyes and pull back.

She likes to sniff and investigate her surroundings. And I know she appreciates the company of another canine (poor only child!)
Cassie's not a barker and it's really important to us and our neighbors that she doesn't learn that during playtime.
Comments: We live in Ballard/Crown Hill. Finding other dogs (especially the working dog breeds) in this area would be ideal. She would love to find a weekday playmate for the time her mom and dad are at work. Otherwise we can socialize evenings or on weekends. We're also interested in mutual petsitting.

Cassie looks forward to meeting some friends!

DogName: Jasmine
Breed: Sheltie
DogAge: 19 weeks (as of 8th January 2005)
Size: about 8-9 pounds, < 1 foot @shoulder
Play_style: She is quiet and reserved around other dogs and doesn't quite know how to interact yet...all the more reason to get in some more socialization. i think she is overwhelmed in larger groups and would be best with one or two other smallish dogs who aren't really pushy. Then I think she would come out of herself and have a ball.
So far she loves to play fetch (though doesn't always come back 100% yet)and to chase and be chased by humans. She doesn't wrestle at all. Otherwise she is most happy invetsigating her surrounds on her own. Just having another og there would be great.
Comments: We live in Redmond but will travel especially on the eastside to anyone that has a fenced yard or knows of a safe enclosed area to play in. I am even willing to let them play indoors to get the socialization in.
At the moment am at home so playtime anytime is good.

Play_style: My two boys LOVE play with other dogs and cry with excitement whenever they see one. They are big, so they inevitably play rough. They have no history of aggressive behavior, however. And they always avoid fights. They love to chase and be chased. They love to tackle and wrestle. Depending on the playmate, they can really run. They have had a whippet friend whom they would chase going about 20 mph.
Comments: We live in Ballard. We don't have a yard so we are looking to meet someone else with a yard or at a fenced park. Our schedules change somewhat so we are potential available anytime.

She gets along with all sizes of dogs, but sometimes gets overwhelmed by too many large dogs at once. One large dog would be fine, if it plays well with small dogs. She also likes chasing sticks / balls, but is not the best at retrieving them. She also likes to just run around and sniff. She has a very happy personality and is always ready to play.
Comments: I live in Edmonds, have a large fenced yard for dogs to run in. Also directly across the street from a large open park. Weekday evenings or weekends work best. Prefer a match that's nearby.
