Make Money for Your Group!

I hesitated doing this, but I have finally caved in and made an Ahimsa affiliate program.  The program allows non-profit organizations and even regular people or businesses to make some money by referring people to Ahimsa – for both the online dog store and training classes.

Right now, I have the percentage set to 5% (excluding tax and shipping), but I may muck around with that in the future and have all of the money go to charity. See below.

Why would I hesitate? Well…there’s that stigma that maybe we need to pay people to send students to Ahimsa. That’s certainly not the case!  Our training classes have thrived on referrals from vets, store owners, and even other dog trainers over the years, and people have referred to us just because they knew that the dogs and people they sent to Ahimsa would benefit.  

We are extremely grateful for the referrals we get, because they are the foundation of our business. Sometimes a person contacts us and says they heard us from 3 or 4 different sources!

I started to set up the affiliate program just for charities, so dog rescue organizations would get a donation from us when they sent people our way, as a thank you and a way to support the great work they do.  Then I thought, why should non-profits be the only ones getting the thank you?

Right now, any body can get the 5%, but only non-profits can make an unlimited amount.  

But I may change my mind soon. I will grandfather you into the current system of paying you if you’re already an affiliate, but I may decide to make it so that regular folks can sign up, but the affiliate money goes to a non-profit of their choice.  Let me know if you have any feedback on that.  When you sign up, if you want your referrals to go to charity, email me at info@doggiezen.com to let me know!

If I do change the system, I’ll email the affiliates already in the program and give them the choice of staying as-is or donating their earnings to a charity they pick from my list.
