Ali Johnso

Ali Johnson is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT), a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, and an agility competitor. She teaches Competition Agility and Control Unleashed classes at Ahimsa in Seattle.
Ali has a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and graduated with distinction (top 15%) from Stanford University. Ali's first word was "doggie" but despite this, she went on to a Ph.D. program in Biochemistry at Duke University before coming to her senses and moving to dog training full time in 2005. She has not looked back and never been happier. Ali has attended numerous workshops and seminars in order to learn more about helping dogs and people live better together, the most recent being Dr. Susan Friedman's 8 week course in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Ali competes in AKC, NADAC, UKI, CPE and USDAA agility with a Border Collie, and Australian Shepherd, and a Jack Russell Terrier. She has worked with many breeds and personalities in her agility dog students, including Leonbergers, Collies, Catahoulas, Shelties, Corgis, Aussies, Border Collies, Pugs, Scotties, Westies, Jack Russells, Schnoodles, Cockapoos, Labradoodles, Cattle Dogs, Havanese, Chihuahuas, Brittanys, Cocker Spaniels, Labs, Goldens, Bouviers, Setters, Beagles, Maltese, Shih Tzus, Boston Terriers, Rat Terriers, Pit Bulls, Boxers, Samoyeds, Springer Spaniels, and most importantly Love Children (Mixes). From shy to bold and young to old, Ali believes in the value of agility training to build connection with your dog and have fun doing it!
Ali shares her home and life with Taiko (Border Collie), Toshi (Jack Russell), Buoy (Australian Shepherd), Beacon (Golden/Border Collie mix?), Burke (human toddler) and a Very Patient Husband. She specializes in Agility and Control Unleashed (based on the exercises in the book, "Control Unleashed: Creating a Focused and Confident Dog" by Leslie McDevitt).
