Walk in the Park
This is an OUTDOOR class focusing on dogs walking around distractions.
In this Walking class, you will learn strategies and training techniques for getting your dog to walk nicely in a real-world environment! We’ll be focusing on how to get your dog’s attention and how to keep their attention when distractions are nearby. This class will be at Woodland Park so there will be plenty of distractions to practice with!
Topics we will cover include:
- loose leash walking
- heel and a release cue
- using a long leash for sniff walks
- shaping attention in a distracting environment
- how to do polite greetings with people and other dogs
This class is not suitable for dogs who bark excessively or growl at other dogs or people. If your dog growls, barks excessively, or is otherwise ‘reactive’ towards people and other dogs please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to see if other classes or private lessons are more appropriate.
If the class you want is full, let us know! Add yourself to the wait list. We will contact you if there is an opening in that class or when new Focus and Control classes are posted to the website.
